Music You Should Check Out this Fall

The first musical artist is Loverboy is a Canadian rock band that was formed in the 1970s.  The rock band was established in Calgary, Alberta.  Today they are based in Vancouver, British Columbia.  The members of the band are Mike Reno, Scott Smith, Paul Dean, Matt Frenette, Ken Sinnaeve and Doug Johnson.  The top three songs are “Working For The Weekend”, “When It’s Over” and “Turn Me Loose”.   

     The second musical group or artist is Michael Jackson was an American singer, songwriter and dancer who is known as the “King Of Pop”.  His contributions to music, dance and fashion along with his publicized lifestyle which made him a global figure in pop culture.  Michael Jackson’s top three songs are “Beat It”, “Billie Jean” and “Man In The Mirror”.   

     The third musical artist is Aretha Franklin.  Aretha Franklin was an American singer, songwriter and pianist.  She is also known as the “Queen Of Soul” and she also placed ninth in the Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Artist Of All Time two times in a row.  Aretha Franklin’s top three songs are “A Natural Woman”, “Respect” and “Rock Steady”.

     The fourth artist is Ella Fitzgerld.  She was an American Jazz singer.  She was also known as the “First Lady Of Song”, “Queen of Jazz” and “Lady Ella”.  She was noted for her purity of tone, impeccable dictation, phrasing, timing, intonation and a “horn like”  improvisational ability particularly in her scat singing. Ella Fitzgerld’s top three songs are “I Want To Be Happy”, “The Nearness Of You ” and “Isn’t This A Lovely Day”.

     The fifth and final  artist is Tina and Erica Campbell known as Mary Mary.  They are an American duo group best known for their lives shown on the We tv network “MaryMary”.   The group was formed in 1998. The duo has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards winning four times including once Best Gospel Performance and for the Best Contemporary Soul Gospel Album.   The group’s name was inspired by two famous Marys from the bible: Mary, mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene.   MaryMary’s top three songs are “Can’t Give Up Now”, “Heaven” and “Yesterday”.
